Stairway To Havana - Where Would It Take You?

I have always been fascinated by staircases.  Their representation in photography is a powerful subject to juxtapose elevation and perception.  As a metaphor for escape, it can invoke feelings of freedom and rising emotion.

The one below was taken in Havana, Cuba.  For some reason I can't quite articulate, I literally place myself into the photo, imagining slowly walking up, one step at a time.

Feeling curiosity, cautiousness, or a combination of both, I envision several possible scenarios at the top.

What do you think?  Can you just picture yourself walking up?  Where do you think it would take you?

I would love to know.

Write me a quick note at  I would love to hear your thoughts.
